You might also care to pass on to the Committee
the reply I had no time to give Janet Anderson: "a"
timetable is not the issuewhat is needed is a credible
timetable, based on a clearly thought through action plan, generated
by a sufficiently empowered project management team; we have had
"a" timetable for six years (2006-10) which no-one believed
and which had no impact on consumer behaviour; the new timetable
is a little more credible, in that Ofcom and the broadcasters
and the transmission engineers have signed up to itbut
that does not begin to make it certain to happen; indeed, the
risk with this approach is that any early setback will discredit
the whole "timetable" concept.
