Letter from Jocelyn Prudence, Chief Executive,
Universitites and Colleges Employer's Association (UCEA)
I am writing to apologise unreservedly for the
error in UCEA's initial press release yesterday.
I know that Andy Fryer spoke to you to offer
apologies directly and sent through the replacement release, but
I accept fully that the responsibility is of course mine. I am
very sorry that a misleading impression may have been given about
committee members views on this topical issue about our pay offer.
We were very appreciative of the opportunity to speak to the Committee
and of your efforts to be helpful in edging the parties towards
a resolution of this very difficult dispute.
Once again I offer my apologies to you.
