Procedural Rights in Criminal Proceedings: Fiona Mactaggart MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Mark de Pulford, Head of Trial Policy and Procedure Unit, and Kevan Norris, Assistant Legal Adviser, European Law, Home Office, were examined.

Draft Report, proposed by the Chairman, brought up and read.

Ordered, That the draft Report be read a second time, paragraph by paragraph.

Paragraphs 1.1 to 4.7 read and agreed to.

Paragraph 4.8 read, amended and agreed to.

Paragraphs 4.9 to 5.9 read and agreed to.

Paragraphs 5.10 to 5.12 read, amended and agreed to.

Paragraphs 6.1 to 8.13 read and agreed to.

Paragraph 8.14 read, amended and agreed to.

Paragraphs 9.1 to 20 read and agreed to.

Resolved, That the Report, as amended, be the Seventh Report of the Committee to the House.

Ordered, That the Chairman do make the Report to the House.

The Committee further deliberated.
