Dear Mike,
As I mentioned in my letter to you of 28 June
2006 about the National Audit Office report on Consular Services,
please find attached a note on our consular work for the FIFA
World Cup in Germany.
Our work for the tournament targeted and influenced
travelling football supporters, has helped to improve the consistency
and professionalism of our frontline services in Germany and in
London, and will inform our preparations for future major sporting
events. I would be very happy to respond to any questions that
the Committee may have on the report. I hope that the Committee
finds this update useful.
