Letter to the Clerk of the Committee from
the Parliamentary Relations and Devolution Team, Foreign and Commonwealth
Office
Thank you for your letter of 9 February.
The substance of this letter touches on intelligence
we may or may not have received, and on sensitive intelligence
liaison relationships. I am afraid that these are areas, therefore,
which it would not be appropriate to discuss with the Foreign
Affairs Committee.
As part of its remit, the Intelligence and Security
Committee is, as I am sure you know, currently investigating intelligence
matters relating to the July terrorist attacks with a view to
reporting to the Prime Minister in the spring. We are co-operating
with the Committee in that investigation.
