On 15 July 2006, the UN Security Council unanimously
adopted a ground-breaking Resolution to curb North Korea's nuclear
weapon-related activities in the context of implementing the Six-Party
Talks on peace and stability in the north-east Asian region.
Attached is the final update of my written submission
on "North Korea and the Nuclear Threat in North East Asia",
for your information.
The section on "Phased implementation"
of the September 2005 agreement, p 6, is substantially updated.
There is a new section on "Britain's interests", p 10.
There are also a few editorial inserts. Otherwise,
the text of my foreign policy briefing is unchanged.
