Further to my letter of 9 February providing
information on the outcome of the referrals that overview and
scrutiny committees (OSCs) have made to the Secretary of State,
I am writing to correct the information previously provided.
I am informed that the outcome of the referral
from Merton OSC was not a decision by the Secretary of State to
support the local NHS. In fact, the Secretary of State decided
not to support the local NHS' preferred location of the new critical
care hospital but to support its location at the Merton OSC preferred
site—St Helier. I attach a corrected list of OSC referrals
to the Secretary of State and their outcomes.
