Joint memorandum submitted by the Department
for International Development (DFID) and HM Treasury
The Secretary of State for International Development,
Hilary Benn, attended the World Bank/IMF Annual Meetings with
the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Gordon Brown, on 24-25 September
2005. The Secretary of State will be giving evidence to the International
Development Committee on the World Bank/IMF Annual Meetings on
18 October.
The attached memorandum highlights some key issues
raised in the context of the World Bank /IMF Annual Meetings.
It comprises:
- The UK Objectives Note for the Annual Meetings;
- The UK Ministerial Statements to the Development
Committee and the International Monetary Fund and Finance Committee
(IMFC);
- The Development Committee and IMFC Communiqués;
- A note on the key outcomes of the Development
Committee and IMFC Meetings.
