To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government how many (a) chemical and (b) fuel (i) spills and (ii) suspected spills the fire and rescue service in each fire authority area attended in each year since 1994. [108998]

The information available is for spills and leaks other than at road traffic incidents, and covers the period 1995-96 to 2004-05. This includes stand-by or assisting at spillages by chemicals, fuel or other kind of chemical/hazardous spills. Information on attendances to suspected spills is not held centrally.
