Prostitution

Fiona Mactaggart: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many arrests there were by

each police force of men who were attempting to buy sexual services on the street in the last period for which figures are available. [110442]

Mr. McNulty: The information requested is not available centrally. Information on arrests is based on persons arrested for recorded crime (notifiable offences) by main offence group (i.e. sexual offences, theft and handling stolen goods, violence against the person, burglary etc.) and police force area within England and Wales. Information is therefore not available to the detail required.

However, the following tables show the number of offenders cautioned and defendants found guilty at all courts for kerb crawling and soliciting offences, by gender and police force area in England and Wales in 2005.
