Mr. Laws: To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions what estimate he has made of the number of individuals whose personal data has been stolen from his Department and its executive agencies in each of the last five years. [134151]
Mr. Plaskitt: The information requested is not available and no such estimate has been made. However, in 2004 personal information relating to approximately 8,800 staff was stolen.
Justine Greening: To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions what the average per capita payment of those leaving his Department under voluntary early release schemes promoted by the Gershon efficiency review was in each year since 2004; and if he will make a statement. [132481]
Mrs. McGuire [holding answer 19 April 2007]: Information on the numbers of staff leaving the Department, the annual expenditure and the average cost for each member of staff since 2004 is in the following table. The information relates solely to staff leaving on early release relating to the Gershon review.
Where staff have left the Department on voluntary early retirement terms, the figures include provisions for all pension payments to age 60.
