Mrs. James: To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform what legislation covers (a) the sale of tanning equipment to private individuals for use in the home and (b) the permitted age for buying such equipment. [146995]

Malcolm Wicks: The legislation regulating the safety of tanning equipment sold to individuals is the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 1994 (S.I.1994 No.3260).

There are no constraints on age limits under this legislation.
