Memorandum from Rosemary A Luff (CJ&I 258)
I am writing to you regarding the amendment to the bill above. As a practising Christian I am concerned at the contents of this bill. A commandment of our Lord Jesus in His word is to love one another as I have loved you, therefore I know without a shadow of a doubt that no christian would portray hatred of any kind to a homosexual. However the bible clearly states that homosexualty is a sin, therefore it would be my responsibility as a Christian to explain this should the occasion arise. God loves the homosexual as a human being who He created in His own image, but cannot look upon sin , therefore does not accept what he practices. People from all walks of life have freedom of speech today, so I find it extremly sad and very disappointing that as Christians my husband and I cannot partake in this freedom. God's word is infallible, and it clearly states that sex is for marriage only, and that between one man and one woman, to say otherwise is clearly a criminal offence.
I would ask that you seriously consider before taking this issue any further, as it really does pose a danger to our freedom of speech,
