Select Committee on Crossrail Bill Minutes of Evidence

Examination of Witnesses (Questions 7484 - 7489)

7484. Chairman: Can I just say as to what I have said in the past, it will not be necessary today to have a cup of tea at 11.30.

7485. Ms Lieven: We would be delighted to have a cup of tea with you, but there does not seem to be anybody else. There is no business this morning. Very briefly: London & Continental have settled and will withdraw their Petition once the undertaking is signed. Loon Fung have settled and, similarly, will withdraw once the undertaking is signed. The three other Petitioners, City Aviation, London City Airport and Marketspur, who are all basically in the same pond, have been agreed in principle and an undertaking is being prepared, and we are so close to agreeing with them that we agreed to defer the Petition because there is no point wasting the Committee's time with that this morning.

7486. Chairman: Today is time for us to reflect on, perhaps, yesterday or the day before in Parliament.

7487. Ms Lieven: Yes, there are matters to reflect upon, I suspect.

7488. Chairman: That means that next Tuesday was to be a day for a session, but we will next meet at 10 am on Wednesday.

7489. Ms Lieven: Indeed, sir, thank you very much.
