Memorandum submitted by Jacqui Fieldsend
I have been asked to send a few comments about my children's involvement with Creative Partners in Slough, I'm very happy to do this as all 3 of my children have been very fortunate to have been involved with Creative Partners.
In recent times my 3 older children all had some kind of involvement with Creative Partners: Christopher (in St Joseph's) was involved with music, he now plays base guitar in a band and also in church on Sundays! He is very talented musically and Creative Partners has helped me to accept that for him being a session musician is a great career, (I had previously hoped he would go in to reliable office work)!
Maria now at Baylis Court girls was previously involved with street dance at St Anthony's. She loved it and it really brought her out of her shy self.
Shona, now at St Joseph's, was also previously involved whilst at St Anthony's with Drama. They wrote a play "Stolen Friends". This was an excellent play and the kids wrote and words music, what a fabulous opportunity for them. She was also involved at Langley Park using drama to show the food chain in the wild. Another great opportunity for her to get out into the park and learn whilst doing so.
Last year, after Chris finished his G.C.S.E., he had some free time and helped out at St Anthony's working with a c.p. to make a map on the school field...once again a fab opportunity for him to be involved with his previous primary school.
Creative Partners in Slough has had a very successful effect on so many children bringing not only the out doors to them but allowing them to get involved in areas not previously available to them.
I have a new baby.......well she is almost 2. I would loved to think that Creative Partners are around when Poppy starts school so that she too will benefit from the same fabulous opportunities.
