Memorandum submitted by F R Peacock, Deputy Headteacher, Coventry Blue Coat Church of England School and Music College
I write in support of the work undertaken on behalf of our school by Creative Partnerships in Coventry, in response to the current enquiry.
Coventry Blue Coat Church of England School and Music College has gained much from its position as a lead school in this project.
The initiative has enabled us to establish contact with a growing number of practitioners in creative arts, all of whom have had a direct input into curriculum delivery in our school.
We have also greatly valued the contribution of creative advisers who have helped us formulate, deliver and evaluate specific projects.
Our involvement in Creative Partnerships has enabled us to improve our links with neighbouring schools, thereby furthering our role as both a specialist Music College, a Leading Edge School and a collaborative partner with other secondary schools in SE Coventry.
Involvement with Creative Partnerships has also served to strengthen the cross curricular dimension of our curriculum, creating a networked curriculum delivery.
It would be most beneficial to our school if the Creative Partnership initiative were to continue. We welcome all visits to our school so that the work being undertaken can be viewed at first hand.
