IMPACT OF CREATIVE PARTNERSHIPS

1. I have worked on four different projects with Creative Partnerships. These have involved working with a range of creative practitioners in the fields of sound, glass, contemporary arts and multimedia.

2. The projects have enabled students to learn a variety of new skills in a very creative and innovative way.

The creative practitioners have brought new ideas to the students on how science relates to the world around them. They have acted as superb role models for students to aspire to. In all the projects there has been some tangible outcome.

3. The partnership has been so successful because each project is planned, monitored and evaluated so carefully. For one project a day was spent completing research at Galleries in Manchester.

4. The creative practitioners, teachers and students all benefit from taking part in the projects. The knowledge and skills gained from the projects are sustainable.

5. The students in all of the projects develop their own creative style and it allows them to experiment in ways that traditional teaching generally does not allow for.

6. It is important for the future that more creative professionals work with children in the classroom. The ability of the practitioners to encourage children to be more creative in the classroom is welcomed.
