I write further to my letter to you of 7 February.
The Committee noted that the UK did indeed take
part in a general approach on this proposal at the recent JHA
Council on 15-16 February, before the matter was debated in European
Standing Committee on 20 February.
The Committee therefore invites you to appear
before it to explain the position taken by your Department on
the issue of scrutiny of this proposal.
