Your Committee sought a further Memorandum from
the Ministry of Defence responding to recent allegations that
have appeared in The Guardian and on the BBC in the wake
of the decision by the Serious Fraud Office to terminate its investigation
into allegations of corruption involving BAE Systems and its sub-contractors.
The most recent allegations, as you point out, concerned payments
for support services in connection with the Al Yamamah Programme.
I have nothing further to add to the memoranda
already provided to the Committee. I agree that any allegations
of corruption should be taken seriously and I can confirm that
the MOD cooperated fully with the SFO investigation.
