  The following chart shows that based on current projections, increases in medical supply should take the ratio of doctors per population above the 2002 OECD average by 2030. However, it is likely that numbers of doctors in OECD countries will also increase over the period.


  32.  Caution should be exercised when comparing across countries because differences between systems mean often like is not being compared with like. Comparing ourselves to countries that have traditionally oversupplied (eg Spain or Italy) might lead us in turn to over supply.
