MEMORANDUM
TABLING OF QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER IN THE NEW SESSION
Shuffles will take place at 12.30 p.m. on Wednesday 3rd December, the day of the State Opening, for the oral Questions being answered on:
The shuffles for subsequent Question times will follow the normal pattern and details may be found on the Order of Questions, to be issued when the date of Prorogation is confirmed, which will be available from the Vote Office and via the Parliamentary Intranet at http://pdvnsco.parliament.uk/BB/OQ/questions.html
All Questions fall at Prorogation. Members may send notices of Questions relating to the new Session to the Table Office by post or through the e-tabling system once the House has prorogued. These notices will be treated as having been received on the first day of the new Session.
Members may table notices of Questions in person in the Table Office from its opening time in the new Session of 10.00 a.m. on Wednesday 3rd December.
QUESTIONS FOR WRITTEN ANSWER ON A NAMED DAY
If the House prorogues on Wednesday 26th November, the last day in the Session on which Questions may be tabled for named day answer will be Friday 21st November for answer on 26th November (and in the case of ordinary written Questions the last tabling day will be Monday 24th November). If the House prorogues on Thursday 27th November, the last tabling days will be Monday 24th November for Questions for named day answer and Tuesday 25th November for ordinary written Questions.
The earliest date in the new Session for which a Question may be set down for named day written answer is Monday 8th December.
NEW MOTIONS AND ADDED NAMES
The last day in the Session on which effective notices of new Motions and added names can be submitted by Members is the day before Prorogation takes place. No new Motions may therefore be tabled on the day of Prorogation nor may any names be added to existing Motions on that day.
       All Motions fall at Prorogation.
New Motions, and added names thereto, may be submitted to the Table Office from its opening time in the new Session of 10.00 a.m. on Wednesday 3rd December.
