Make
provision for the abolition of the television licence fee; and

it enacted by the Queen’s most Excellent Majesty,

by the authority of the same, as follows:— |

reception) of the Communications Act 2003 (c. 21) is |

Short
title, commencement and extent |

(1) |
This Act may be cited as
the Broadcasting (Abolition of Licence Fee) Act 2008. |
|

(2) |
This Act comes shall come
into force on a day determined by the Secretary of |
|
|
State by order made by statutory
instrument, or on 31 December 2012, |
|
|
whichever is the earlier. |
|
|
(3) |
This Act extends to England
and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. |

|
|
|
|
|
|
