| To move the following Clause:— |
|
| | |
| | (a) | the directors of a building society are required by section 75 of the |
|
| | Buildings Societies Act 1986 (c. 53) (Directors’ report) to prepare a |
|
| | report for a particular year, and |
|
| | (b) | in that year the building society made transfers in relation to which |
|
| | |
| | the report must identify each of the charities concerned and specify the amount |
|
| | transferred to each of them. |
|
| | (2) | The requirements of subsection (1) are to be treated for the purposes of the |
|
| | Building Societies Act 1986 as requirements of that Act.’. |
|

| | Creation of a mandatory scheme |
|

| | ‘The Treasury may by order require all banks and building societies, as defined |
|
| | by this Act, to transfer the balances of all dormant accounts to the reclaim fund.’. |

| | 4. | Proceedings on consideration shall (so far as not previously concluded) be |

| | brought to a conclusion one hour before the moment of interruption on the |
|
| | day on which those proceedings are commenced. |

| | 5. | Proceedings on Third Reading shall (so far as not previously concluded) be |
|
| | brought to a conclusion at the moment of interruption on that day. |
