Vocational education

To move the following Clause:—



Section 8(3) of the Education Act 1996 (c. 56) (compulsory school age) shall not


apply to any person who is a vocational student as set out in subsection (2).



For the purposes of this section, a vocational student is a person who—



has reached 15 years of age;



has the written permission of their parent or guardian not to continue in


full-time education in school;



has the written permission of the head teacher of the school at which they


are registered as a pupil not to continue in full-time education at school;



has achieved level 5 at the third key stage in English, mathematics and


science; and



has enrolled in a full-time vocational training course.’.
