Royal Military Academy: Foreigners

Mr. Hague: To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what criteria are used to decide which nationalities of foreign citizens may be trained at RMA Sandhurst. [189441]

Mr. Bob Ainsworth: Places at RMA Sandhurst are allocated in accordance with defence policy and wider Government conflict prevention objectives.

Mr. Hague: To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how many foreign citizens were trained at RMA Sandhurst since 1997; and of what nationalities. [189444]

Mr. Bob Ainsworth: 800 students from 79 countries have trained at RMA Sandhurst since 1997. Their nationalities are set out in the following table:
