To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many people in each police force basic command unit area were (a) added to and (b) on the National Sex Offenders Register in each year since its inception. [202198]

The following table provides the number of registered sex offenders in each police force basic command unit for the years 2005-06 and 2006-07, before when these data were not broken down by basic command unit area. This information is published in local multi-agency public protection arrangements (MAPPA) annual reports, which are available in the House Libraries and at:
