Mrs. Maria Miller: To ask the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families pursuant to the Answer of 30 June 2008, Official Report, column 640W, on primary education: standards, how many and what proportion of children who received free school meals achieved the national standard in each Key Stage 1 examination in each year since 1995. Kevin Brennan [holding answer 10 July 2008]: The following tables show how many and what proportion of children who receive free school meals achieved the national standard in the reading, writing, mathematics and science Key Stage 1 examinations in each year since 2002. These figures can only be provided from 2002 as this was the first year pupil level characteristics information was collected.
