Memorandum submitted by Graham Hobbs
I am producing a book with the help of pupils
at Brimscombe Primary School. It is about Brimscombe Port, due
to re-open this year and due to connect via Stroud to Stonehouse.
This is a tremendous educational opportunity for the pupils, one
which most children will never get. It's one the school may not
get after all. The children have researched with me at the archives,
visited museums, been on the radio and helped prepare maps. We
even planned an exhibition in the local museum. If BW withdraws
their committed money the project we are doing could become pointless.
What sort of impression does this give children about adults and
B.W. in particular? B.W. made a commitment. It should be honoured.
