Prentice—How many last year lost the Charter Mark?
SUSPENSIONS
Organisations can be suspended from the Charter
Mark scheme because of dips/failures in ongoing performance against
the Charter Mark criteria. However this would happen only in exceptional
circumstances as the Certification Bodies work with organisations
on a programme of remedial action to bring the service back to
the level expected.The majority of suspensions are due to internal
re-structuring within the organisation. Suspensions from the scheme
are agreed between the Certification Body and the organisation
and usually last for a defined period of time (usually six months).
WITHDRAWALS
Organisations choose to withdraw from the scheme
for a number of reasons, such as:
— re-structuring within the organisation
— merging with a non Charter Mark holder
— introduction of a wider corporate
programme
— financial reasons (cost of the initial
12 month review)
During 2006 a total of 81 organisations either
withdrew or had a period of suspension from the scheme.
