The House met at half-past Nine o'clock.

1    The Speaker's Absence,—The House being met, and the Speaker having leave of absence pursuant to paragraph (3) of Standing Order No. 3 (Deputy Speaker), Sir Michael Lord, the Second Deputy Chairman of Ways and Means, proceeded to the Table.

PRAYERS.

2    The Second Deputy Chairman of Ways and Means took the Chair as Deputy Speaker.

3    Finance Bill,—Sir Nicholas Winterton reported from the Finance Bill Committee, that it had gone through the Bill (except Clauses Nos. 3, 5, 6, 15, 21, 49, 90 and 117 and new Clauses amending Section 74 of the Finance Act 2003), and made Amendments thereunto.

    Bill, not amended in the Committee and as amended in the Public Bill Committee, to be considered on Monday 23rd June; and to be printed [Bill 124].

4    Motion to sit in private,—Philip Davies moved, That this House do sit in private.

    The Deputy Speaker put the Question forthwith, pursuant to Standing Order No. 163 (Motions to sit in private).

    The House divided.

      Tellers for the Ayes, Philip Davies, Mr Robert Syms: 0.

      Tellers for the Noes, Mr Nigel Evans, Mark Pritchard: 28.

    And it appearing on the report of the Division that fewer than forty Members had taken part in the Division, the Deputy Speaker declared that the Question was not decided.

5    European Union (Audit of Benefits and Costs of UK Membership) Bill,—The Order of the day being read, for the Second Reading of the European Union (Audit of Benefits and Costs of UK Membership) Bill;

    A Motion was made and the Question being put, That the Bill be now read a second time;

The House divided.

      Tellers for the Ayes, Mr Robert Syms, Mr Nigel Evans: 8

      Tellers for the Noes, Tony Cunningham, Mr Sadiq Khan: 0.

And it appearing on the report of the Division that fewer than forty Members had taken part in the Division, the Deputy Speaker declared that the Question was not decided, and the business under consideration stood over until the next sitting of the House.

6    Runaway and Missing Children Bill,—The Order of the day being read, for the Second Reading of the Runaway and Missing Children Bill;

    And a Motion being made, and the Question being proposed, That the Bill be now read a second time;

    And it being half-past Two o'clock, the Debate stood adjourned.

    Ordered, That the Bill be read a second time on Friday 17th October.

7    Iraq War Inquiry (No. 2) Bill,—The Order of the day being read, for the Second Reading of the Iraq War Inquiry (No. 2) Bill;
