Oral Questions to the Minister for the North West
Andrew Stunell (Hazel Grove): What arrangements are in place to assess the effectiveness of his role in representing the interests of the North West in the formulation of Government policy.
Paul Rowen (Rochdale): What recent discussions he has had with Ministerial colleagues on the provision of a job, training place, apprenticeship or education place for those in the North West aged between 16 and 24.
Andrew Gwynne (Denton & Reddish): What recent discussions he has had with the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government on the Regional Spatial Strategy for the North West.
David Maclean (Penrith & The Border): What representations he has received on the effectiveness of the administration of the European Regional Development Fund in the North West.
Ben Chapman (Wirral South): What recent assessment he has made of the relationship between the Government's policies on the environment and job creation and retention in the North West; and if he will make a statement.
Mr Lindsay Hoyle (Chorley): What recent representations he has received on levels of employment in the North West.
Rosie Cooper (West Lancashire): What recent discussions he has had on the cancellation or deferment of developments planned for brownfield sites in the North West; and if he will make a statement.

   That the Committee has considered the matter of Building Britain’s Future: the North West’s response to the economic downturn.
   The First Report from the North West Regional Select Committee, Session 2008-09, on The impact of the current economic situation on the North West and the Government’s response, HC 696, is relevant.
