Make provision for limiting the use of hydrofluorocarbons in certain premises; |

and for connected purposes. |

Be it enacted by the Queen’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and |
| |
consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present |
| |
Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:— |
| |
1 | Phasing out equipment using hydrofluorocarbons |
| |
(1) | The Secretary of State must make regulations to phase out the use of |
| |
hydrofluorocarbons in equipment used in large shops within five years of the |
| |
day on which this Act is passed. |
| |
(2) | The Secretary of State must also make regulations— |

(a) | to specify a date by which the use of equipment using |
| |
hydrofluorocarbons in other commercial premises must be ended; and |
| |
(b) | to specify such other dates as the Secretary of State considers |
| |
appropriate for limiting the use of equipment that uses |
| |

Before making regulations under section 1 the Secretary of State shall consult |
| |
such persons as he considers appropriate. |

| |
In this Act “large shop” has the meaning given in Schedule 1 to the Sunday |
| 15 |
Trading Act 1994 (c. 20). |
| |
| |
(1) | Regulations under section 1 shall be made by statutory instrument and shall be |
| |
subject to annulment in pursuance of a resolution of either House of |
