To ask the Secretary of State for Health how much on average has been recouped in charges for (a) personal social services, (b) home care and (c) day care for each older person in each local authority in 2008-09. [261494]

We are informed by the Information Centre for health and social care that it collects and publishes data on local authority expenditure recouped in sales, fees and charges for older peopleaged 65 and over. Information for 2008-09 will not be available until later in 2009.
The following table shows the total amount recouped in sales fees and charges by each council with adult social services responsibility (CASSR) and the amount relating to home care and day care for older people in 2007-08. Information about charges paid by individual older people is not held centrally.
