(2) The UK Statistics Authority (the Authority) was established on 1 April 2008, when the ‘Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007’ came into effect. One of the functions of the Authority is to oversee the Office for National Statistics (ONS)—its executive office.
(3) On 1 April 2008 employees of the General Register Office were transferred from the UK Statistics Authority to the Identity and Passport Service (IPS).
(4) As of 1 April 2008, Field Interviewers are now classified as civil servants and are included as UK Statistics Authority employees.
Notes:
1. The Disability and Carers Service and the Pension Service are now called the Pension, Disability and Carers Service.
2. Communities Scotland, Scottish Agricultural Science Agency and Scottish Building Standards Agency were abolished on 1 April 2008. Staff moved into the Scottish government.
3. Scottish Housing Regulator was setup on 1 April 2008.
