Strategic health authority area totals include a small number of staff employed by NHS trusts including, for example, health visitors employed by Great Ormond Street and working in Haringey. 3. The low figure for County Durham and extremely high figure for Darlington are an anomaly caused by the fact that County Durham commissions services for both County Durham and Darlington and in the case of community health services, these are provided for both PCTs by Darlington.
