(1) Under the Licensing Act 2003section 141. (2) Only those areas for which data have been recorded are included in the table. (3) Figures given are on the principal offence basis. (4) Every effort is made to ensure that the figures presented are accurate and complete. However, it is important to note that these data have been extracted from large administrative data systems generated by the courts and police forces. As a consequence, care should be taken to ensure data collection processes and their inevitable limitations are taken into account when those data are used. Mr. Hunt: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many under 18 year olds were (a) arrested and (b) cautioned for alcohol-related offences in each criminal justice area in the last two years. [275877]
Mr. Alan Campbell [holding answer 15 May 2009]: The number of persons aged 10 to 17 years cautioned for alcohol related behaviour offences in England and Wales, by police force area, in 2006 and 2007 (latest available) are given in the table. The statistics relate to persons for whom these offences were the principal offences for which they were dealt with. When a defendant has been cautioned for two or more offences at the same time the principal offence is the more serious offence.
Data for 2008 will be available in the autumn of 2009.
