Prisoners: Foreigners

Mr. Grieve: To ask the Secretary of State for Justice what percentage of the prison population foreign nationals comprised in each year between 1994 and 2004. [276849]

Mr. Straw: The percentage of foreign national prisoners (FNPs) in England and Wales prisons as at 30 June each year for the years 1994-2004 inclusive is in the following table. Number of FNPs and the total number of prisoners is included for completeness.
