Schools: Nottingham

John Mann: To ask the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families what the value added measures for each school in Nottingham were in the latest period for which figures are available. [292397]

Mr. Coaker: The Achievement and Attainment Tables (AATs) give a summary of performance of each school, including their Contextual Value Added measure.

Science: GCSE

Mr. Gibb: To ask the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families (1) how many schools in the (a) maintained mainstream and (b) independent sector had one or more students achieve a GCSE in both core science and additional applied science in each year since 2007; [286803]

(2) at how many schools in the (a) maintained mainstream and (b) independent sector one or more students achieved a GCSE in both core science and additional science in each year since 2007. [286806]

Mr. Coaker: In 2007, no schools had one or more pupils at the end of key stage 4 achieve pass grades in both core science and additional applied science GCSEs. In 2008, 908 maintained schools and 14 independent schools had one or more pupils at the end of key stage 4 achieve pass grades in both core science and additional applied science GCSEs.

In 2007, 37 maintained schools and one independent school had one or more pupils at the end of key stage 4 achieve pass grades in both core science and additional science GCSEs.

In 2008, 2,992 maintained schools and 549 independent schools had one or more pupils at the end of key stage 4 achieve pass grades in both core science and additional science GCSEs.

Mr. Laws: To ask the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families which schools in the National Challenge programme (a) entered pupils for and (b) offered courses in the separate sciences at GCSE in the most recent year for which figures are available; and if he will make a statement. [287529]

Mr. Coaker: The Department does not hold information on which subjects are offered by schools.

Based on 2008 data, the latest year for which validated results are available, there were 440 schools below the National Challenge floor target. Of those, 125 schools entered at least one pupil in at least one of the separate sciences in 2008. Those schools are listed as follows.
