6 Statutory Instruments: Motion for Approval

8 Public Petitions

A Public Petition from persons concerned at the Government's decision to refuse Tony Lola's application for asylum relating to Immigration (Tony Lola) was presented and read by Mr John Leech.

A Public Petition from Councillor Dave Blackwell, Canvey Island residents, and others relating to Sea Defences (Essex) was presented and read by Bob Spink.

10 Draft Bribery Bill (Joint Committee on)

The Lords have come to the following Resolution, to which they desire the agreement of this House:

That it is expedient that a joint committee of Lords and Commons be appointed to consider and report on the draft Bribery Bill presented to both Houses on 25 March (Cm. 7570) and that the committee should report on the draft Bill by 21 July.

12 European Committee B in respect of European Union Documents No. 16686/08 and No. >17104/08,> relating to European Security and Defence Policy

Mr Eric Illsley (Chairman) reported the following Resolution:

That the Committee takes note of European Union Documents No. 16686/08, French Presidency Report on European Security and Defence Policy, and No. 17104/08, Report on the Implementation of the European Security Strategy_Providing Security in a Changing World; welcomes the French Presidency's report and the High Commissioner's review; and supports the Government's position that UK and European security are enhanced by action coordinated at an EU level.
