Memorandum submitted by Shearer Candles
Ltd
Our experience is that the banks are interpreting
the guidance differently. We currently bank with RBS. They have
insisted on directors offering personal guarantees supported by
heritable security (ie our homes) before they can access the scheme.
They can only access the scheme if the security offered is insufficient.
Barclays on the other hand tell us that they consider main homes
as being off limits. We understand that Clydesdale take the same
view.
