Summary

On 12 October 2009, we held a pre-appointment hearing with the Government's preferred candidate for Local Government Ombudsman and Vice-Chair of the Commission for Local Administration in England, Dr Jane Martin.

On the basis of the evidence provided by Dr Martin at this hearing, we have concluded that she is a suitable candidate for the post.
