Memorandum from Lancaster City Council (BOP 26)
Submission:
1. Practical examples of how your Council is using existing powers, such as the power of wellbeing, to deliver changes that local people want to see;
· The application of second homes discounts to generate additional funds that are channelled into our Local Strategic Partnership to deliver key district-wide Strategies and initiatives.
2. What simple changes, such as removing barriers or a piece of regulation from the centre, could be made to allow you greater freedom in delivering your ambitions and vision for your council.
· The need to resolve the complex regulatory framework around the permitted exchange of data both inside the Council, with our Local Strategic Partnership colleagues/partners and with other Government Departments and Agencies. Any clarity about what can and can't be shared would be helpful.
