8 Looking ahead
53. In Session 2008-09 we will continue our
inquiry into Global Security: Non-Proliferation, with the intention
of producing a Report before Easter. We have recently announced
a major new inquiry, into Global Security: Afghanistan, which
will look at foreign policy aspects of the UK's relations with
Afghanistan, and on which we plan to commence taking oral evidence
in February.[24] We propose
to conduct our annual reviews of the FCO's human rights report
and its departmental annual report. We shall announce further
inquiries in due course.
