Thank you for your prompt reply. Attached please
find the following documents. I would be happy to discuss once
you have reviewed. Please note that I have not seen KBR's confidential
report to the Embassy, however, I know that their investigation
lacked objectivity and transparency. Further, before the investigation
by KBR was initiated, we know that Iraqi staff were both intimidated
and paid in order to ensure their silence. Most of these issues
are outlined in the following documents:
A chronology of events up to the middle of July,
2007. Nothing has changed since the report except that the Ambassador
recently pinned medals on all the KBR managers mentioned in the
report.
A witness statement from Hassan that was taken
by the Deputy Ambassador and sent to us to ensure its accuracy.
The comments in track changes were made by Musab and myself, we
are not sure if they were incorporated in the final document.
A transcript of Nasr's witness statement to
the Deputy Ambassador that was taken by myself. We do not have
a document for *** statement, although we know it is consistent
with Hassan's and Nasr's.
A recent story in the New York Times
showing the pervasiveness and culture of abuse of KBR international
staff in Iraq and how these individuals act with complete impunity.
A reference letter from the Deputy Ambassador,
for ***, disputing KBR's claim that she was fired for poor performance/security
issues.
I was employed as a Senior Consultant to Adam
Smith International to work on a DFID project supporting the centre
of Iraqi government. My office and residence was at the British
Embassy in Baghdad. I was employed there during the following
periods: January 2006 to June 2006; and October 2006 to June 2007.
