Letter to the Chairman of the Committee

I enclose copies for the Committee of the 2007-08
FCO Departmental Report, which will be published at 12.00 noon
on 14 May.
The structure of the report is based on the
FCO's new strategic framework. The format takes account of previous
comments from the Committee. I hope you will find features such
as "Highlights of the year", "Lessons learned"
and "Cost-benefit analysis" useful. An html version
of the main text of the report is also available on the FCO website
(www.fco.gov.uk/en/about-the-fco/publications/publications/annual-reports/departmental-report/),
which we hope will improve accessibility. We have also produced
a Summary version of the report which provides a concise introduction
to our work and the ideas that underpin it. In a similar vein,
we are offering to produce the Departmental Report in alternative
formats (for example, audio, large print and Braille) for anyone
who requests them.

you when we meet in the autumn.
