OT 304: Letter to the Rt Hon David Miliband MP, Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs

 

 

St Helena Airport

 

I attach a copy of a letter to Rt Hon Douglas Alexander, Secretary of State for International Development, in which my Committee has requested further information on the pause in negotiations over the St. Helena airport contract. Whilst we understand that the proposed airport would be funded by DfID, the Committee would be grateful if the FCO, as the Department leading on Overseas Territories, could comment on how the proposed airport would fit into the Department's strategic vision for the future development of St Helena. We would also be grateful for your view on the questions posed to Mr Alexander in the attached letter.[1]

 

Given the urgency of this matter we would be grateful for a response as soon as is possible.
