OT 314: Submission from Raymond Ray, Bermuda

Birds of the same feather

I write you as a concerned native of Bermuda. I too also would like to see a Commission of Inquiry set up to investigate allegations of corruption and the absence of "open" governance by the Progressive Labour Party Government here on the Island...

(It should have been posted on the front page, as opposed to 2nd.last page of the Daily Royal Gazette...)

Today, Sat. Feb. 14th 09 the Royal Gazette had printed an article informing the public of the official resignation of the Premier of the Turks and Caicos, Michael Misick; it's to take affect as of March 31st. 09. He'll also step down as party leader as well, that is to take affect as of Feb.28th 09

Mr. Michael Misick's financial dealings are the focus of a British investigative commission that concluded hearings this week as it probes a range of corruption allegations, including that "Misick & other" officials profited from the sales of Government-owned land.Mr. Misick was elected in 2003 and is serving his 2nd.term... He also is the Islands TOURISM MINISTER. Sounds familiar Didn't I hear recently this guys was either coming or came here to Bermuda offering "us" advice? (Though, I could've gotten the bull by the tail, while attempting to get milk?) What's that old saying, "birds of the same feather flock together."

PS.

Isn't ironic, or just a coincidence that this notice, (in the Caribbean Brief section page 31 R/G Feb.14th 09) just happened to end up on the same page as the posting of obituary notices ?
