18. LETTER
TO
THE
COMMISSIONER
FROM
ASSISTANT
COMMISSIONER
JANET
WILLIAMS,
QPM, RECEIVED
4 JUNE
2009
Thank you for your letter dated 7th May 2009.
I think that I made clear our position in my letter
of 30th April 2009 that the main concern that we have relates
to Data Protection. I have considered the contents of your letter
and I believe that it is a matter between you and the Home Secretary
as to whether she relinquishes her right to privacy and whether
you seek her express consent for the MPS to release the data you
have requested.
Again, before replying we have consulted with West
Mercia police who share our views.
Data supplied in a summarised format would not compromise
our current position on the security of protected persons.
