Dr. Fox: To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how many training hours flying time RAF fast jet pilots were able to undertake on average in each year since 2004. [258877]
[Official Report, 7 July 2009, Vol. 495, c. 661-62W.]
Letter of correction from Bill Rammell:
An error has been identified in the written answer given to the hon. Member for Woodspring (Dr. Fox) on 7 July 2009. The figures provided in the substantive reply relating to average front line pilot training hours
were incorrect. The correct information relating to the average front line pilot training hours for fast jet aircraft should have been:
Average actual front line pilot training flying hours | ||
Fast jet aircraft type | FY 2005-06 | FY 2006-07 |
From the information provided above the average of actual fast jet pilot training flying hours is 187 for FY 2005-06 and 189 for FY 2006-07.
Changes to the flying hours reporting system mentioned above, also means that monthly data for the period January to March 2008 could be provided only at disproportionate cost.
