David Simpson: To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what estimate his Department has made of the amount of revenue lost as a result of illegal trading in (a) cigarettes, (b) spirits, (c) diesel, (d) petrol and (e) counterfeit goods in Northern Ireland in each of the last two years. [313643]
Sarah McCarthy-Fry: The total revenue losses as a result of illegal trading in cigarettes and spirits are not estimated separately for Northern Ireland. Figures for the UK were published by HMRC in 'Measuring Tax Gaps - 2009' in November 2009. The two most recent years covered were 2006-07 and 2007-08. Mr. Stewart Jackson: To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what estimate he has made of the cost to the Exchequer of the stamp duty holiday; and how many property transactions did not attract stamp duty during the holiday which would have done so outside the holiday period in (a) each government office region in England, (b) Wales, (c) Scotland and (d) Northern Ireland.
